The Works of Aron Kincaid
Passed away January 6, 2011, age 70 Born in Hollywood, Aron was surrounded by
art and films from the beginning. At the age of 12 he won his first
important national
art award. By the age of 16 he produced, directed and starred in "The
Fall of Nineveh" -- a full length theatrical film with a cast of
400. This was just the beginning. Since then Kincaid has been a security
guard
for the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, worked on a construction gang in the South
Seas, dubbed films in Paris, led tours of the Acropolis in Greece, was
a rock singer on the Via Veneto in Rome, graduated from U.C.L.A. Cinema
Department, put in 8 years in the United States Coast Guard Reserve,
appeared in 15 motion pictures (10 of which he starred in), did over
300 television
shows and from 1970-1985 he was one of the top fashion models in the
United States appearing in literally thousands of ads in all the media. Throughout all his moving about (he has had 20 addresses in the last forty years) he has maintained "Moonfleet", his studio-home in Benedict Canyon where he often paints 24 hours on end. He has executed nine collections of caricature oil paintings (the first two were acquired by Motown Records and Mr. Dean Martin). The artist has attempted to portray, in retrospect, the city's most colorful inhabitants and their involvement in an era that is all but totally gone. Having lived through this time and having been a part of it, Kincaid has tried to capture the glory, the superficial, the madness and the joy of something the world will never see again. Author Tom Lisanti has just had his newest book on sixties cinema published by McFarland & Company. It's 456 pages with 96 photographs. It is titled "Hollywood Surf and Beach Movies -- The First Wave 1959 - 1969." Appropriately enough, Aron Kincaid, pictured on the cover, was asked to write the forward to Mr. Lisanti's new creation.
